Animal Law Alliance

Kimberly is an Ambassador for the Center for Animal Law Studies Global Ambassador Program for the 2024/2025 term. In this role, she launched the Animal Law Alliance, where she serves as Executive Director, working alongside pro bono animal lawyers and pro bono animal rights lawyers to promote animal welfare and legal advocacy.

Kimberly is a successful civil litigator and court-appointed guardian ad litem who has transitioned to the specialized field of animal law. Following her career in civil litigation, including founding a law firm known as LeBac Law, P.C., Kimberly aligned her professional goals with her values in support of animals. In 2016, she began providing pro bono legal services as one of the dedicated pro bono animal lawyers for animal welfare non-profits and organizations. Kimberly also founded Animal Rights and Advocacy of Illinois, a non-profit dedicated to protecting animals, their legal rights, and their environment. In 2019, she became the 6th Congressional District Leader for the Humane Society of the United States, where she assisted in advancing both federal and state animal protection legislative agendas and lobbied to support the passage of Illinois humane pet store ordinances. A recipient of the Center for Animal Law Studies Animal Law LLM Leadership Award, Kimberly graduated from Lewis & Clark summa cum laude in 2024, further solidifying her commitment to the cause as one of the leading pro bono animal rights lawyers.

Kimberly is an active volunteer for animal welfare organizations, including Animal Partisan and the Food Animal Concerns Trust. She is a dedicated member of the American Bar Association Animal Law Committee, the Illinois Bar Association Animal Law Committee, and the DuPage County Animal Law Committee. Kimberly served as the Vice-Chair of the DuPage County Animal Law Committee for 2020/2021 after previously holding the position of Committee Chair in 2019/2020. In her commitment to education, she has presented seminars covering important animal law topics in both 2019 and 2021. Furthermore, she authored 'Helping Pets of Domestic Violence Victims,' published in the DuPage County Bar Association Brief. Her passion for animals extends beyond her professional life; Kimberly's lifelong love for animals and her choice to follow a vegan lifestyle highlight her unwavering devotion to animal welfare. As a supporter of pro bono animal lawyers and pro bono animal rights lawyers, she believes in making a difference in the lives of animals and their advocates.
